Every fall since the small town of Parkesburg Pennsylvania echoes with whistles, cheers, and buzzers indicating another season of football. Players proudly suit up in their team colors with their faces painted for war as they step onto the field at Minch Park.

Description:Comments "I'm going to make a pitch for football," Kelly Rieck, of Parkesburg, told board members. She quoted the school district's philosophy and said she was attending the meeting as a parent and a child advocate. There are five sports for the girls and 88 participate in the fall sports. She also said friends she knew had moved out of the district so their children have the chance to pursue their desire to play football. Rieck told the board a lot of money could be generated from fund-raisers, and asked the board what it would take to get football at Octorara.
